8.8 How to create and manage Role Players
To create a single new Role Player:
Click Settings from the top menu
Click Manage Role Players
Click + Create new Role Player
In the free text boxes type in the
Code (required)
First name (optional)
Surname (optional)
Email Address (optional)
Password (optional)
Click Create Role Player
To edit a single Role Player:
Click Settings from the top menu
Click Manage Role Players
Use the filters and search functions to find the required Role Player
Click Edit next to the required Role Player
Make any required changes
Click Save Changes
To import more than one Role Player:
Click Settings from the top menu
Click Manage Role Players
Click Import / Update / Export
Click Import new Role Players
From this screen you can click Choose File and then Upload File when you have selected the file you wish to upload.
Please scroll to the bottom of the page for information on the Role Player import format, this information is also found directly in the system when performing this action.
To update Role Player information (including download Role Player Export):
Click Settings from the top menu
Click Manage Role Players
Click Import / Update / Export
Click Update Role Player information
This action is done using the same process as importing new Role Players, however in this scenario it is also possible to download an export of the Role Players in the system, update the required information in the export and re upload the export to the system. To do this:
From the manage Role Players page
Click Import / Update / Export
Click Export Role Players
Manipulate the downloaded file
Return to the Manage Role Players pages
Click Import / Update / Export
Click Update Role Player information
Choose the file and click Upload File
When updating information for a User:
Changes to the First name, Surname and Email address will be immediately propagated to all exams
Change to the Password field will affect only exams that have not been run yet
Role Player import format
Code (Required)
This is the internal identifier of the role player. This is also used as login to P4B. Should contain letters, numbers, - and _ characters only.
First name
Role player first name
Surname
Role player last name
Email address
PIN
Role player PIN or password which will be used for users to log-in into the Practique for Browser. If this is left blank, the Code will be used.
Dimensions 1,2,3...
These are useful for importing other fields for role players, for example telephone numbers or a specialty. To import dimensions for role players, these must already exist in the Master Blueprint and be marked as applying to examiners. Note that dimension categories are case sensitive.
There is no limit on the number of dimension columns. For dimensions that have discrete options, multiple categories can be indicated by delimiting with a semicolon, in the same cell.
For dimensions that are free text, the value of the text is expected in that column.
