8.7 Highlighting

This feature is enabled / disabled at exam creation stage and may be helpful for candidates who are accustomed to highlighting text in paper-based exams. Candidates can use this feature in risr/assess to highlight key components in their item stem or answer. The highlighted text does not have any impact on their submitted responses.

If reading time is applied to an examination, the highlighting feature is not available to candidates (or examiners) during reading time.

Setting up the text highlighting function

When setting up an exam you will see the option to enable highlighting of text in the Edit Exam Details section.
