8.6 Combining Exams

In risr/assess it is possible to combine multiple Exams of the same type (Written/OSCE) to create a single Exam in the system for aggregated results processing. This functionality can be used in multiple use cases, the most common of which are:

  • Same candidates, different content (Items) Example: Exam 1 contains stations 1-5 for all candidates, and Exam 2 contains stations 6-10 for all candidates

  • Different candidates, same content (Items) Example: Exam 1 contains stations 1-5 for half the candidates, and Exam 2 contains stations 1-5 for the other half of the students.

After combining the exams you can use all result processing and reporting functionality for a combined exam as you would use for a normal exam. When you are combining exams the system keeps the order of the items the same as it was in the exams being combined.

When combining exams it is important to note that every candidate should take every Item exactly once and all candidates should take all items to ensure correct data and no errors
