'List of items' tile

You will need this information when you have added an List of items tile, and wish to populate it for the first time, or edit it.

What is the List of items tile?

The list of items tile is used for displaying links to multiple items of content from multiple sections and different content types. You can add any item of content from any section of your website into this tile. The tile is customisable and allows various different layouts and options to manipulate how you display the information.

Adding content into the List of items tile:

1. In the 'Compose' view, you will see that your List of items tile is empty (unless you are coming back to edit it!). To populate the List of items tile, you will need to drag items of content from the content chooser on the left of the compose view, into the tile. To then edit the properties of the tile, hover over the tile until you see the blue 'Edit' button in the top left, and then click on it.
2. There are nine fields in the List of items tile edit interface:
   1. 'Tile Title'
      1. This is a title that will be located above the content that is in the tile.
   2. 'Show more... link'
      1. To search for an internal link, enter the name of the item of content in the search box and then click on the 'Search' button underneath. This will generate a list of matching results, click on the item of content that you wish to link to.
         
   3. 'Show more... link text'
      1. This is the text that will show on the arrow button underneath the content in the listing tile.
         
   4. 'Number of items to display'
      1. This defines how many items the tile will show, useful if you want to have a scrollable list.
   5. 'List type' 
      1.  Allows you to define the type of list that you would like the items of content to display in.
   6. 'Layout'
      1. This field is only for use if you have chosen the 'Multi column thumbnail list' from the 'List type' menu. This field defines the layout of the items of content in the tile. You will need to choose the best layout for your desired view.
   7. 'List scale'
      1. This field enables you to define the size of the images that are related to the items of content, so that you can manipulate the view if you wish.  
   8. 'Display fields'
      1. This list allows you to define which fields associated with the items of content, show in the listing tile.
   9. 'Elements'
      1. This section of the edit interface will show the items of content that you have selected, so that you can reorder and remove them from the tile. You will also have the ability to hide the title of the item if you wish - useful if you are simply listing images.

Editing content in the List of items tile:

1. Go to the 'Compose' view of the Cover page, navigate to the List of items tile, and hover your cursor over it, the blue 'Edit' button will appear in the top left, click this and edit any of the fields you would like to.

Removing the List of items tile:

1. If you wish to remove the List of items tile, navigate to the 'Layout' view of the cover page, and click 'x' in the top left of the tile. When deleting a tile, the tile you are selecting has a red border.
